Google Form: Please reply YES or NO so I can get an accurate headcount for Friday.
The Kennett Square Light Parade will be on Friday, November 25th. I will not be attending this parade. TJ Suchta, Lily, and Thomas are in charge. The parade starts at Kennett High School. Report time is 5:00. The parade proceeds up Broadstreet and turns left on State. The parade ends just before The Market. Buses cost about $1000 for a small simple parade on a holiday weekend so... no buses. With this being said, transportation will be similar to Bayard Estates. The difference with this one is that you should have your ride park at the end of the route (near The Market) so you don't have to walk back to KHS. If you are in town, please commit to this parade. Uniform: Band jackets, uniform hats and hat wraps. Black pants or jeans. NO PLUMES. Those of you that need your hat back, please be kind to the small ensemble room. After the parade, the hats go right back and please make it look nice. Please do not take your hats home. Color Guard and Front Ensemble can wear GREEN HATS, WHITE HATES, woolen caps, ear muffs just under no circumstance can you wear RED SANTA HATS, it apparently confuses the children. Again, NO RED HATS. We have swing flags and candy canes, again, you decide. The banner isn't available so Mano or Sarah can play the sleigh bells, everyone else can find something from the toy chest. Battery powered lights and other light up accessories are encouraged. You are NOT PERMITTED to tape or glue anything to the uniform hats or hat wraps. If you can manage to use the plume sockets without damaging the hats, that's okay. PLEASE DO NOT DAMAGE THE HATS. Be creative, please be careful. Report Time: 5:00 (drop off/park near band room, do not park in the lower lot) Hornline and Drumline need to read through the parts in the band room with TJ We will be playing "Sleigh Ride" from the marching band website. It's cutime, please take a look before Friday. Want to listen?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAxyCieDAVQ&list=TLPQMjExMTIwMjIaF6dwb3ieSQ&index=1 Staging 5:40 in lower lot (think Homecoming Parade) Step Off: 6:00 We are first, follow the police car. (Cadence twice, play once) Repeat End: 6:30ish Pickup at The Market You must return your hat to KHS before you go home (or return it on Monday after Thanksgiving, I will be going to KHS to check next week) Thanks everyone and have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Mr. Whisler After looking at the weather forecast and talking to the Rustin Band Director, we are going to the game this evening. I truly appreciate your patience. Thanks for all of our help, time, and patience this season. This was my first time truly running the program and I couldn't have done it without all of our help. Mr. Whisler This message is for spectators and volunteers:
If you plan on attending the game this evening and you are not a marching member or staff member you MUST purchase a $7 ticket. This evening is the first round of the 2022 PIAA 5A Football Playoffs and there is truly no exception to this rule. In the past they tried to have the band and cheerleading staff pay the entrance fee. This will also be our last home game of the 2022 season, win or lose. Also EXTREMELY important. There will be NO CASH TICKET SALES this evening. You must purchase your ticket through the Hometown Fan app. (Search > Hometown Fan > Download > Search "Kennett" > Click PIAA 5 > Enter Quantity > Check out). If you have any questions, please forward them directly to Sean Harvey ([email protected]). Andrew Whisler Kennett Marching Band Great job at the parade last night! We had a ton of fun even though it rained toward the end. The trick-or-treaters were super excited and the community was very appreciative.
