Pit and Guard DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND 8:45 AM - Report 9:30 AM - Perform 9:45 AM - Finished Uniform for this performance will be band shoes (should arrive by then) black socks, uniform pants, uniform jacket, gauntlets, and gloves (should also arrive.) No hats for this performance. Thursday 8/23 PM - Friends and family performance at New Garden elementary. 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM - Rehearsal 5:45 PM to 6:00 PM - Change into band shirts (provided on Thursday) 6:00 PM Warmup 6:30 PM Performance Post performance members will need to load the trailer and box truck for travel. We could use help from a few parents to deconstruct the scaffolding. We will not transport the scaffolding Thursday night. Friday 8/24 8:00 AM to Noon - Rehearsal in KHS stadium Noon to 1:00 PM - Lunch 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Rehearsal in KHS stadium The stadium reflects the sun and is about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than a grass field. Please bring lots of water, sunscreen, and hats. 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM - EPL (Eat, pack, load) Members are responsible for loading equipment on appropriate vehicles as well as feeding themselves. Members can either bring food or walk in to town to land hope, wawa, etc. 5:00 PM - Buts in seats to depart for Avon Grove Uniform for this game will be band T-shirts, shorts, athletic shoes, hats, and sunglasses. 5:30 PM - approximate arrival at AGHS 6:35 PM - gate 6:40 PM - perform to the home stands at AG 7:00 PM - kickoff - pit reloads trailer, parents help to reload props 8:15 PM - approximate - watch Avon Grove Band at halftime. Third quarter is free time for members to purchase food/beverages from concession stand inside stadium. Bring money for snacks. 9:30 PM - approximate end of game and depart for KHS 9:50 PM - approximate arrival at KHS. Parents and members who drive - there will be cones set out in the parking lot. Please do not park between the cones. Also, please do not park in front of the transportation office doors. Our band trailer is large and require some real estate to park it. If we have to ask people to move cars out of the way it delays everyone in going home. Band Camp begins Monday, August 13 8 AM sharp at New Garden Elementary.
Schedule for this week: 8:00 AM is our start time; not our arrival time. This means you must arrive early! Lunch is Noon to 12:45 Dinner is 5:00 to 6:00 PM Rehearsal ends at 8:00 PM - that means the last note/toss/drill set ends at 8:00. How long it takes after that to put your equipment away and be on the road is up to you. Important Reminders and Things to Bring:

There is a voluntary mandatory rehearsal on Tuesday, August 7 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the KHS band room. This rehearsal is for music only; no visual. Please see your email for more details.
Also, we are still missing responses from some of you regarding uniforms and meals for camp. Again, please check your email for more details. Attention: ALL band members must have a Medical / Field Trip Permission Form completed and turned in by the start of Band Camp.
That is 8:00 AM tomorrow morning. Each member must have this information turned in on time, or they will not be allowed to participate. No exceptions. Please find the form on our Membership Documents page. |
