One week until CAMP!!! (I’m excited, are YOU EXCITED!?)
Reminders -Please be sure to pay Friends of Music if you owe anything. All questions relating to account balances should be directed to Mrs. Haskins ([email protected]) -The KCSD Activity Fee must be paid by all KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. The KMS students do not need to pay the $50 fee because they are not registered for the class. The $50 fee should be made payable to Kennett High School with the memo line: KCSD Activity Fee. Cash is also accepted. YOU MUST PAY YOUR ACTIVITY FEE before the end of the first week of camp. Students who do not pay their activity fee before the end of the first week of camp will be referred to KHS administration. -Please check the list in the handbook and be sure you are prepared for the first day of camp. Every student needs a 64oz water jug, sunscreen, bug spray, a pencil, a hat, lunch, and a snack. You will have much better day if you arrive prepared. Camp Schedule for Day 1 Band Camp is at Kennett Middle School (195 Sunny Dell Road) 8:00 Hornline, Drumline, Color Guard: Report Time (please try to make it on-time) -Check in at the end of the F-Wing with your Captain or Section Leader -FRONT ENSEMBLE ONLY will report to Kennett High School for the first two blocks of camp. 8:15 Kennett Middle School Gym: General Meeting with Mr. Whisler 9:30 Sectionals -Color Guard on Field 1 with Color Guard Staff -Drumline on Field 3 with Drumline Staff -Hornline with Mr. Whisler in KMS Band Room 12:00 LUNCH 12:45 -Color Guard on Field 1 with Color Guard Staff -Drumline on Field 3 with Drumline Staff -Hornline with Hornline Staff in music sub-sectionals -FRONT ENSEMBLE will pack and load at KHS with Mr. Whisler 4:30 Dinner 6:00 -Color Guard on Field 1 with Color Guard Staff -Drumline with Drumline Staff in music sub-sectionals -Hornline on Field 2 with Visual Staff for Day 1 Basics 8:00 Rehearsal Ends 8:15 Estimated Pick-Up (please do not expect your kid to be ready before 8:15) Props The props are a work in progress, and we should have the props by Labor Day. When we have more, Nathan Bragaw and I will reach out for student and parent volunteers. Final Summer Rehearsals -Drumline: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9am – 11am. -Color Guard: Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:30pm. -Front Ensemble: Possibly Friday, 8/11, time TBD (see Discord) Discord Join Code -This is an updated code, it will only work for 7 days. -Both parents and students are encouraged to use Discord. -The daily cutoff for posting on Discord is 10pm, please do not GROUP post after 10pm. If you have something urgent, please use the direct messaging feature. Uniforms -We have ALL BUT ONE STUDENT FITTED!!!! Great job getting this done before camp!!! A special thank Mrs. Huber, Cory, and anyone else who helped! -Color Guard uniforms are ordered. We should have them by September 20th(ish). Delays are always possible. -The hoods are still TBD. This will be easier to coordinate when the season begins. We can come up with a design and make it happen by the middle of September.
