Faculty Performance (8/22)

On Monday, August 22nd we will be performing for the KHS Faculty at 8:30am (this is a revision from yesterday's email and I sincerely apologize.  In the past breakfast for the teachers was from 8:30 to 9:00 with Opening Ceremony at 9:00 and our performance at around 9:10.  KCSD moved the meeting up 30 minutes so we need to make adjustments as well.  Again, I'm super sorry this wasn't clearer.

This event will be in FULL UNIFORM.  You must arrive in FULL UNIFORM, please do not arrive and change at KHS.

• Hornline and Drumline: If you are missing uniform pieces or have not been issued a uniform, show up in a blue shirt and shorts.  There is a 99% chance that we will have all the necessary parts for you at KHS, just make sure you arrive at 7:20 and not 7:50...
  • Friends of Music will be ordering shoes soon, for now please wear the darkest pair of shoes you own.  You could always go with just black socks for now, just make sure they are an old pair because they probably will not survive the morning.
• Color Guard: blue shirt, shorts, and comfortable shoes.  You will be using the parade swings (everyone gets one swing flag and you will be free to wave freely while we play, if you uncomfortable with this idea I can get you equipment for the toy box and you can hang with the Front Ensemble.
• Front Ensemble: The toy box is in the shed, make sure you arrive early enough to move up to the shed and grab what you need.

  • 7:00am Kennett Middle School
    • I need a small group of students with convenient transportation to meet me at KMS and help me load the box truck.  We need all of the drums, harnesses, sticks, and the sousaphone.
• 7:20-7:40 Member Arrival: (ADJUSTED) to KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL BAND ROOM
• 7:50 Practice "Old Kennett", "Land of 1000 Dances", "Hey Baby", "Sweet Caroline", and "Hey Song" (we are pretty much going to run them back to back.
• 8:15 Head up to the Stadium (or Gym if it's raining)
• 8:30(ish) Perform for the Faculty and School Board.
• 8:45(ish) Move to Front Steps (weather permitting; if rain we will be going to the Auditorium)
• 8:50/9:00 Photography Session for Football Program
  • ASAP Drum Major, Captains, and Section Leaders (one photo)
  • Seniors (which will include a lot of the same people)
  • Full Band
• 9:45 Donuts in the Band Room sponsored by Kennett High School Friends of Music
• 10:00 Dismissal
